Superior Walls Company History

Superior Walls of America, Ltd. was founded in 1981 by Lancaster County home builder Mel Zimmerman after years of research and development on a precast foundation system. The system was designed to eliminate age-old problems of home building while providing a quick and easy way to build better and drier basements.

In 1986, Superior Walls established its first licensed operation, and has since grown to include manufacturing centers throughout the United States. As satisfied builders and homeowners spread the word, Superior Walls worked hard to become the industry leader in precast residential foundations.

Continued growth and demand led Superior Walls to establish a new corporate headquarters in the rolling hills of New Holland, Pennsylvania in 2000. While more and more people caught on to The Superior Advantage, Superior Walls began to emerge as the future of foundation building.

In early 2003, Superior Walls introduced the new Xi^TM wall. With added insulation and strength, the improved wall represents the foundation of the future for the building industry.

Superior Walls is the first foundation company to earn the Green Approved Product designation by the NAHB Research Center. Builders choosing to use Superior Walls Xi^TM and R-5 foundations can earn up to 10 points on a project toward a National Green Building Certification.

• Superior Walls produces precast insulated panels formed in climate-control setting and delivered to the new home site. Panels are removed with cranes and put in place by factory-certified installation teams.

Superior Walls enjoys making regular donations of foundation wall systems to community, charitable and media projects. Our policy is to review all product donation requests to determine how Superior Walls products can be an advantage to a project. In addition, we are looking to supply product to projects that will bring publicity to our company and help educate builders and homeowners on our foundation systems.
